Binder for Life, a new class presented by the Schweitzer Church Foundation, is impacting lives and generations!

Binder for Life is offered twice a year. Participants are given the tools to organize their estate in a way that is helpful to loved ones while providing peace of mind. Each person is given a Binder, which they complete over three sessions with guidance from class facilitators.

Carolyn Larsen, who recently participated, shares, “It was beneficial! Before the class, I had no idea what info I needed to gather so my family would be prepared to settle my estate. I enjoyed interacting with others and exchanging ideas, too. “I’m grateful, and so is my daughter, Caroline, an attorney and executor of my estate. Caroline reviewed the Binder and said it far exceeded her expectations. Caroline says she’s ‘confident the info prepared in the Binder will help her and her sister navigate Mom’s affairs after her passing. I highly recommend the class.’”

Larry Dills, class co-facilitator with a banking background, summarizes why the class is important: “It’s about helping your family, should you become incapacitated or pass away, by organizing your personal and financial information. In so doing, your loved ones will have the information and documents needed to help manage your affairs.”

Debbie Murray, co-facilitator with tax and financial expertise, reminds us that the class provides a less direct, proactive way to have conversations with family about money. Debbie loves helping people and serving at Schweitzer in a space where people share stories and learn from each other.

Binder for Life is a Schweitzer Foundation sponsored class. The Foundation provides the congregation with valuable experiences that aid in stewardship of all that God has given us.

“I love it when class participants walk away with a Binder they share with family knowing their estate is in good hands!” —Jim Mason

The Foundation supports needs arising outside the operating budget—missions, scholarships, facilities, etc. The Foundation seeks, receives & manages current and estate gifts to be used to glorify God.
