TESTIMONIAL FROM A 2023 COACH HOUSE RESIDENT

Being human, we are full of emotions, desires, needs, and fears. We want to feel accepted and loved. One of life’s greatest desires is to know that we are known, chosen, and enough. Life takes us through many dark tunnels, often these are tunnels many of us never want to journey through.

My life’s journey, one deprived of love and acceptance, riddled with heartbreak, rejection, and betrayal, resulted in physical and emotional scars that led me to want to end my life. I hated myself. I was beat down. I felt unloved and all alone. I was told that nobody would ever want to be with someone as hideous as myself. I felt trapped. I wanted out, and I was willing to die to do just that.

At an all-time low, I made a hard decision to enter into a program that a coworker recommended. This program was called Coach House with “Flourish.” I was resistant. I was scared. I thought this would be something else that I would fail. Taking a step of faith, I moved into one of the Coach Houses.

Still unclear, I let my guard down and began to embrace the program. I began to attend the required classes including Boundaries, Jobs For Life, Faith and Finance, and Bible studies. I began to see God’s presence in my life. The people that I have met in the program love on you. They help you see that your life has meaning. They want to see you succeed. They lift you up and encourage you.

Recently, I started college classes and am finally on the path to getting a degree. I have made life-long friendships. My faith is overflowing with joy. I know now that I am loved and I am enough. This program has changed me inside and out. Now when I feel like I am in a dark tunnel, God is right there with me helping me to see the light at the end of it.

FLOURISH SAVED MY LIFE.

I know God loves me, and He has plans to prosper me. I have a purpose. Thank you Lord for Flourish and those that you have placed in this program to help in the healing of the hurting and lost. In the movie, “A Girl Who Believes In Miracles,” the last line said, “Faith as small as a mustard seed can grow to move mountains.” That is also found in the Bible in Matthew 17:20-21. The verse says, “…Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.”

FLOURISH, TO ME, IS THAT MUSTARD SEED AND THEY ARE HELPING TO MOVE THOSE MOUNTAINS.
