Wednesday Nights for Kids

Stiffany Taylor2024 Fall, Kids Leave a Comment

Our Kids’ team is so excited about Fall Kickoff happening September 4! Through December, Wednesday Night Kids and Route 56 will be back in action, ready to have fun, worship together, and grow in our faith. Each Wednesday night from 6:30 to 8pm, we will engage in activities for kids birth through 6th grade. Here’s what this looks like for each age group: that encourages growth through wonder and play. This lesson is followed with an activity or craft.

Our nursery staff loves and cares for infants up to 2 years old. These sweet volunteers enjoy rocking babies, blowing bubbles, and reading books. Our preschool classroom is a place for kids 2 to 5 years old. Kids have snack time followed by a fun lesson and crafts designed for their age group.

Our Route 56 is a group just for 5th and 6th-grade students. Route 56 meets in its own space on the second floor. The night usually begins with snacks, playing games and building relationships before gathering for worship. Our lessons focus on Christ-centered, biblical truth that kids in this age group can apply to their everyday lives. We then gather into small groups for deeper discussion of each lesson. This is such a unique age group, and they never cease to amaze me with their thoughtful questions and self-reflection.

Our school-aged group in grades K-4th grade will enjoy a snack, play games, and build friendships at the beginning of the night before gathering for a Godly Play lesson. Godly Play allows children to hear the stories of the Bible in a different and meaningful way

I am filled with joy and hope to see how God moves in each of these different age groups during this coming school year. If you want to be part of what God is doing in the lives of the kids and students here at Schweitzer Church, I would love to hear from you! staylor@schweitzer.church
