I was diagnosed with ALS in 2023. I was devastated, anxious about my future, and honestly, I was mad at God. My conversations with God started with the question, “Why me?” Gradually, over time, this changed to “God, what do you want me to do with this? And how can I live this new chapter of my life in a way that honors you?” God gave me the courage to openly share the joys and struggles of living with ALS. I now have a tremendous amount of gratitude for the small and significant blessings in my life.
Most importantly, I have seen the beauty of God’s kingdom, and I want to be part of this. Since my diagnosis, I am much more focused on relationships and the gift of friendship. God has healed me in so many ways. He has healed me socially, emotionally, spiritually, and perhaps he’s even healed me physically. The progression of ALS is difficult, and it’s ugly. I know that God is walking ahead of me, preparing me, and will be beside me during this journey. Many people tell me they are praying for my healing. I thank them and ask them to pray that God continues to heal me.
