Amazing things have been happening at the Vertical Communities, and there are still exciting things ahead! I have shared with many people about the Bible studies, the community dinners, and even hosting Alpha courses at one of the communities. Through these experiences, I have had the privilege of witnessing the transforming power of the Holy Spirit work, and I’m excited to begin leading Sunday evening worship services within these communities. A few residents shared with me some of their thoughts about these past and upcoming experiences.
How has having the Bible studies and fellowship impacted you?
“It gives me something to look forward to during the week, but it also helps me to get my spiritual needs met because I have been without a car for a while, and not being able to go to church has been hard. I like being able to just walk over to the community room and spend time with others who live in the same apartment and talk about our faith and different topics in the Bible.”
What is your favorite part about these gatherings?
“I really like being able to socialize with my neighbors that I might not see during the week. I also like that we all have dinner together. It feels like a big family having dinner together. We may all eat dinner at different times throughout the week, but for one night, we all eat dinner at the same time, in the same space.”
How do you feel about having a church service happening in your community soon?
“I love the idea of having church in our community because it would be closer for me to attend, but also, I would get to see more of the community growing closer as we hear the Word together. “
