“Let It Be Known”
In 2022, I set out to write a song for Advent based on that year’s sermon series, “Prepare the Way.” The song is titled “Let It Be Known.”
“Let it be known, the coming of the Lord…”
The Lord has called us to prepare the way; to make known that Jesus has come, and will come again. I wrote:
“Lord, find me with the light on ready for my portion, Messiah, I’ll await the day
Let my voice be carried to a world that’s weary, desperate for a better way
Immanuel is coming, and we will be His dwelling, in our hearts forever reign
The Father in His kindness, gives the Son as promised, make way the Lord has come to save”
Isaiah 9:2 reads:
“The people walking in darkness have seen a great light;
on those living in the land of deep darkness a light has dawned.”
Isaiah 9:6-7 follows with the famous foretelling of the coming of Jesus Christ, and the hope he will bring to all the world.
The Lord Almighty has accomplished this. He is the light in our darkness. We have hope! We have hope that all things will be made right. We have hope that darkness will lose its grip, fear will vanish, anxieties calmed, and all that is broken restored.
We all need hope. Maybe today you need reminded of the hope we have in Jesus. No doubt, we all know someone who needs to hear about this hope. So, go.
Let it be known.
