Alpha: A Place for Questions

How many times have you had a question for God? How often have you wondered about a sermon or the Scripture being read during a service? You’re not alone in having questions. We all do. It’spart of being human, a crucial part of our faith journey.

Consider how many times people, including the earliest disciples, asked Jesus a question. Nicodemus, a religious leader, asked, “How can someone be born [again] when they are old?” Two followers of Jesus asked, “Teacher, where are you staying?”

We have a place for your questions and it’s called Alpha. This is an eleven-week experience where questions are the centerpiece of all we do. We dive into questions such as:

Is there more to life than this?
Who is Jesus, really?
How can I have faith? Or, can I have faith… again?
Why & how do I pray?
Why & how do I read the Bible?
Who is the Holy Spirit?
Does God heal today?
What about the church?
How can I make the most of the rest of my life?
Alpha is also an opportunity to explore life and the

Christian faith in a friendly, open, and informal environment. It’s a safe place to explore life’s biggest questions.

A typical Alpha evening consists of good food (and desserts), a 30-minute video involving real people with real questions, discussion around a table with others, and teaching from experienced followers of Jesus. Again, it’s a safe place where all questions are welcome.

Kenny Bosier, who participated in the fall 2023 class shared:

“Alpha was an inviting process that allowed me to grow as a new Christian because of the openness and non-judgmental environment.

The level of knowledge, experience and education of the Bible and Christian teachings varied from very little to experts; this wide array made me feel safe and be vulnerable at times.”

If you desire to explore your faith for the first time or are seeking to have your heart renewed, Alpha is for you. Maybe your faith has grown stale and you’re feeling empty inside. Alpha is for you. Perhaps you’ve been around religion for a while but like Nicodemus you too have a question for God. Alpha is a great place to ask your question. God will meet us there!
