We welcomed our second child in June this year and his arrival meant many changes for our family. With a toddler and a baby, we have experienced changes in naptime, bathtime and bedtime. Honestly, our entire daily routine has changed. Change can be exciting, but also a little scary because change oft en means facing the unknown.

We worried about these unknowns before our baby arrived. Will he sleep well? Will his sister like him? Will he be healthy? And so many more questions! Th ere are plenty of unknowns when expecting a new baby, just as there can be many unknowns when facing a new school (or new school year), a new job or a new city.

It’s easy to get caught up in worrying over all these unknowns, but knowing God is with us can bring peace of mind. God’s love endures in every situation, and though we may face the unknown, God knows everything. His plan for us is already laid out and, for Him, there are no unknowns.

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” –Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV)
