Flourish: Building Relationships. Transforming Lives.

Several years ago, Schweitzer Church recognized that the needs of Springfield stretched well beyond the reach of its campus boundaries. It was determined that the most effective way to begin to engage with the community-at-large and address those needs was to form a separate faith-based nonprofit organization. Born out of Schweitzer Church and infused with its DNA, Flourish Community Development Corporation was founded in October 2020.

At that time, Flourish CDC operated the Food Pantry at Schweitzer, the Coach House transformational program for women emerging from challenging circumstances, and the Jobs for Life program. Since then, Flourish has expanded our faith-based life change programs to include Boundaries, Budget Basics, J.U.M.P., Flourish Girls, and the Story of God. Our community outreach and development efforts have extended into establishing our office in the “Heart of the Westside” neighborhood on the northwest side of Springfield and serving as the Resource Coordinator for two low-income apartment complexes in the central and the west part of town.

In 2024, we witnessed countless stories of hope, renewal, and growth. From providing transformational educational opportunities to fostering meaningful connections within our community, none of this would have been possible without your support. We are deeply humbled by your faith in our work and your commitment to our shared vision.

As we look ahead to 2025, we are filled with excitement and anticipation for what God has in store for Flourish.
