Celebrating a Memorable Student Summer

The fun days of summer might be fading away, but we are still celebrating some incredible memories from summer camps, numerous “Pop-Up” hangouts, and weekly Tuesday Lunch Clubs. This summer, students have spent time staying connected by hanging and getting to know each other on campus and off. One group of students set the bar for serving with excellence at Camp Barnabas, as both our girls’ and boys’ cabins received the J.E.F.F. award. What’s this, you might ask?

J.E.F.F. is a cabin reward system that stands for Joy, Enthusiasm, Fellowship, and Fun. Each week cabins compete with each other to show the most J.E.F.F. throughout camp. Campers earn J.E.F.F. tokens each day by cheering for one another, singing loud camp songs at rally, and encouraging everyone around them. J.E.F.F. is a way to celebrate campers for being positive role models and contributing to all the crazy fun around camp. Both the boys’ cabin and girls’ cabin from Schweitzer won the J.E.F.F. award for the whole week which earned them an ice-cream dance party!

The students who received this award for the boys’ cabin were Carter Worth, Jude Lewellen, Jackson Burlison and Asher Ogden with their cabin dad, Alan Sanderson. The award winner for the girls’ cabin were Stella Green, Emma Rowden, Norah Rowlett, Reese Burlison, Grace Smith, and Stella Wheeler with their cabin mom, Abby Smith.
