As spring gives way to summer, Flourish is busy connecting with more and more residents moving into vertical communities. Flourish’s Resource Coordinator, Katelyn Yoder is the friendly face residents might find at the Y Gardens near OTC on Chestnut Expressway, and the recently opened Nordic Landing complex near Parkview High School off E. Grand Ave.
In May, Katelyn began hosting move-in welcoming events. She left friendly notes and gifts for all residents and hosted “Meet Your Neighbor” dinners.
“Each week we connect with new residents as they move in, but more importantly, we are here to help residents connect with each other to develop a strong community in each of the apartment buildings,” Katelyn shared.
“Each community is made up of 41 units, and we know that each unit represents a person with a story. Residents have hobbies, they have gifts, and talents to share – and this is what Flourish is working to uncover. For many residents, moving into an apartment is about more than just a new place to live. This may be the first time they are able to live on their own or the first time they feel safe where they are living. These residents are taking big steps toward changing their lives. Flourish gets to be part of this season and so do I.”
