As we participate in corporate worship, we find our center in Christ. But how do we fulfill God’s call to each of our lives as we become focused on our community? It’s all about volunteering! God has called each of us to use our gifts to glorify Him as we seek to serve others in the name of Jesus Christ.
Here at Schweitzer Church, we are all about sharing our time and talents to serve all of God’s people. There are abundant opportunities to share God’s love with others. In 1 Peter 4:10 we are reminded that “As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace.” Jesus’ own life was an example of the service that we are to extend to one another.
You might consider volunteering as a home-centered visitor or helping with the Snail Mail Ministry by making or writing cards. Maybe you have the gifts to be a small group leader or sing or play in one of our many music ensembles.
If you’re more of a behind-the-scenes kind of person, you could serve on our Production Team or as a photographer. If spiritual care is your gift, you might take an active role in our Prayer Ministry or Healing Ministry. We are always looking for volunteers in our Kids or Student Ministries, as well as greeters, ushers, volunteers at the Blue Booth, and even gardeners.
Maybe your gift is focused on missions or working at the Flourish food pantry. If hospitality is your gift, you might consider being part of one of our special event teams or funeral reception team. You could also volunteer as a tutor or reading buddy at our partner school. You could even serve as an office volunteer, a cookie baker, or in many additional areas.
