Route 56 is an amazing transitional ministry for 5th and 6th graders. This fall, we’ll meet each Wednesday from 6:30 to 8:15 pm upstairs in the main building. This unique ministry between Kids and Student Ministry is a place where young teens can find and follow Jesus. Students have time at the beginning of each night to hang out and get to know one another. This is followed with games and a Bible lesson. The evening finishes with small group discussions where we dig deeper and practice discipleship. Since Route 56 started, our students have been asking about more serving opportunities! So, this year, we’re excited to add an element of missions to our ministry.
Watching the first group of students grow in their faith and into a relationship with Jesus is nothing short of amazing! During the summer, I accompanied a few former 5th and 6th graders to the Middle School CIY camp experience. Here, I witnessed God move in their lives in many ways. One student shared with our team that she prays her extended family would one day find and know Jesus. It’s powerful when a kid is praying for the adults in their life! This same girl will be serving as a volunteer on the Kids’ team this fall.
I am in awe of what God is doing throughout the ministries at Schweitzer Church. I am so excited to see what this new season will bring and how families will be impacted through this ministry.
