As we look around the world, we can easily see that it is not just our souls that are in need of healing, but also our relationships, emotions, and bodies. This is why our call as Christians is not merely to speak into the spiritual lives of others, but to participate in God’s holistic redemptive plan for the world. Every year at our Schweitzer Blood Drive, I’m reminded of this call and encouraged by the knowledge that the act of giving blood truly is a ministry and a gift to our community. Like Peter in Acts 3:6, we can say, “What I do have I give you,” and bless the people around us in this vital way. I hope you’ll consider joining me in ministering to Springfield by donating blood on Wednesday, July 1st, 10am-3pm, in the Student Center.
