The Schweitzer Church Foundation is excited to help launch, coupled with general giving, a new ministry in the northwest quadrant of Springfield. A financial gift of $45,000 will contribute to Pastor Stiffany Taylor’s leading the vision and mission of this new church plant, a ministry that will bless our broader community.

Embracing holy imagination, this ministry seeks a new way to launch a church. At the Nordic Landing apartment complex (aka “a vertical community”), Stiffany began building relationships with the residents through dinners, seeker-friendly Bible studies, and Alpha courses.

The next step is the launch of their first worship service on Sunday, September 7, with a continued focus on relationships. “The Garden Community Church,” as this new church will be known, will follow a dinner church model, which focuses on foundational biblical teaching and community fellowship through the act of breaking bread together. Stiffany is leading these local mission efforts at both of the apartment complexes served by Flourish.

The Schweitzer Church Foundation is a valuable resource to the church, serving as a catalyst to start new things and as a caretaker of financial gifts given over the generations. Aligned with the mission and vision of Schweitzer Church, the Foundation Board discerns requests for resources from church leadership that typically fall outside the operating budget. Launching The Garden Community Church is exactly the kind of ministry we believe God desires—one that is Christ Centered & Community Focused!

Prayerfully consider giving a gift to the Schweitzer Foundation today. Board members are available to talk with you on a Sunday morning or at a time that is convenient for you. Call the church office and ask for Pastor Jim Mason, the Foundation Director.

Thanks for your generosity!
