The privilege of being part of a musical group known as the Senior Saints has blessed me truly. Upon the request – or rather persuasion of a friend – I decided to try out this musical group, and I am so thankful I did.
Music has been such a huge part of my life, but more often lately, my voice comes and goes and does peculiar things. This could cause me to reconsider singing publicly, but instead, I can continue being part of something special because of fellow singers who are part of the Senior Saints choir. Singing together is both fun and rewarding.
What a joy it is to visit retirement facilities and watch people’s faces “light up” as they clap and sing along with us. In reality, this brings us all so much joy. It truly blesses me, the singers, and the musicians wherever we go.
Our group is often accompanied by the Joy Pickers, a talented group of musicians playing acoustic-style instruments. Together, it’s a joyful noise all year long. In sharing my story, I hope you might also be persuaded to come try Senior Saints and join us as we share the joy of music with senior adults living in our community.
The Senior Saints Choir & Joy Pickers are led by Cheryll Moll. Message her for details at cmoll@schweitzer.church.
