The Schweitzer Church Foundation invites you to a 75-year birthday celebration on August 30th at 3pm in the Student Center. Everyone is welcome!
We’ll gather over delicious desserts to hear inspiring stories of God’s faithfulness, past and present. Schweitzer Church began with nothing more than a vision from a retired pastor and has grown into a vibrant 10-acre campus and a faithful, Christ Centered, Community Focused church.
None of it happened by accident. It was built one act of faithfulness at a time. Stewardship, generosity, and a whole lot of ordinary people saying yes have fueled ministries that have blessed lives beyond anything we could have imagined.
For over 75 years, Schweitzer Church has kept responding to growing needs on our campus, and far beyond it. We’ve worshiped in three different venues as our community grew. We’ve looked past our own doors to serve the whole city, especially the northwest quadrant. We’ve planted a church inside the Nordic Landing and Y Gardens apartment complexes, and we’re deeply engaged in restorative ministry through our partner, Flourish.
The Schweitzer Church Foundation has been a quiet but vital force, wisely stewarding financial gifts and serving as a catalyst for what’s next. Take our online worship ministry for example: a gift of approximately $65,000 from the Foundation helped transform our online experience into a state-of-the-art live stream to better reach people we might otherwise never meet, the home-bound, the curious, the searching, wherever they are.
We continue to seek, receive, and steward gifts that will carry the church forward for generations still to come. Thanks be to God!
